How do I change the protection level of my Socket Spam Filter?

To change the protection level of your Socket Spam Filter, log on with your username and password to Socket's Spam Storage Center at www.socket.net.

At Socket's Spam Storage Center you can check your rejected messages in your Spam Inbox, add new allowed e-mail addresses to your Friends List, and now you can change the level of your filter by clicking on Settings.

The five new levels of Spam Filtering you can set according to your personal preference are:
  • Friends Only: All e-mails are blocked unless the sender is included in your Friends List. The sender will receive a returned message stating their e-mail has been stopped by your Spam Filter until they are added to your Friends List.

  • Aggressive: Blocks most legitimate mailing lists and advertisements. Watch your Spam Inbox and add these to your Friends List.

  • Standard: Spam Filter's default setting. Quite accurate but may block legitimate mailing lists and advertisements.

  • Conservative: Not a high level of filtering, but blocks more spam than 'Very Conservative'

  • Very Conservative: Only blocks messages that are almost certainly spam.
Please call 1-800-762-5383 to contact Socket's local Technical Support with any questions about changing the level of your e-mail's Spam Filter.

If you do not currently have a Spam Filter on your Socket e-mail account, please talk to one of our Customer Service representatives to add it on to your Socket account.

Socket's Spam Filter comes FREE of charge with High-Speed DSL and Premium Dial-up accounts or it can be purchased for $10/year with an Unlimited or Standard Dial-up account.
