Socket launches citywide coloring contest

COLUMBIA, Mo.— Community children have the opportunity to enter a coloring contest throughout the month of June. Socket, a Columbia-based telephone and Internet provider, debuted its second annual Hello Neighbor Coloring Contest last weekend at Art in the Park, where 300 children participated for the chance to win family-friendly prizes.

Each entry receives a free day-pass to Going Bonkers, a local arcade and indoor playground. Entries are separated into two age groups, three to seven years old and eight to 12 years old. Three winners will be selected from each age group. Second place winners will receive passes to the YouZeum, Columbia’s own interactive science center. First place winners receive a Shakespearience, turning them into a Shakespeare’s Pizza-maker for a day, and Grand prize winners will get a family season pass to Big Surf Waterpark.

Entries must be completed and returned to Socket by June 30. Socket employees will judge the entries for creativity and overall presentation. Coloring sheets can be downloaded at www.socket.net/coloringcontest or picked up at Socket’s office, located at 2703 Clark Lane in Columbia. Coloring sheets will also be available at Shakespeare’s Pizza, the YouZeum and Going Bonkers.
